  • A strategic naming and concept development project for the Copper mattress series by Greco Strom, focused on building a cohesive naming system for a premium product line rooted in sleep, wellness, and innovation.

  • The mattress category is highly functional, often dominated by technical terminology and product specifications.

    For the innovative Copper mattress series, the challenge was to:

    • create a coherent naming system across multiple products

    • elevate perception from product to experience

    • connect technology, materials, and wellness into a unified narrative

  • Sleep is no longer perceived as rest, bit as recovery or even therapy.

    Consumers don’t choose mattresses based only on features, but on the promise of overall wellbeing, balance, and restoration.

  • Build a naming system around the concept of the heart (essence) of therapeutic sleep.

    The name “Curessence” combines:

    • cure = healing, recovery

    • essence = purity, core experience

    • also involves Cu (copper initials in periodic table).

    establishing the series as a holistic sleep system, not just a product line.

    Each product within the range (e.g. Pneo, Rheo, Pavo, Apto) functions as part of this system, creating a consistent yet flexible naming architecture.

    • Developed the master brand name “Curessence” as the conceptual umbrella

    • Created a scalable naming system for individual mattress models

    • Aligned naming with:

      • product innovation (e.g. copper-infused materials)

      • wellness positioning

      • premium perception

    • Ensured coherence between product, narrative, and brand language

    • Built a structure that supports future product extensions

  • Strengthened brand perception through consistency and conceptual clarity.

    “Curessence” positions sleep as an advanced experience combining technology, design, and natural materials.
