A naming and conceptual development project for a residential development, focused on creating a distinctive identity that reflects the relationship between space, lifestyle, and contemporary living.

Residential developments often rely on generic naming and functional descriptions, making it difficult to establish a clear identity or emotional connection.
The challenge was to:
Create a distinctive and memorable name
Reflect the spatial and architectural concept
Build a foundation for a coherent brand narrative

The way a space is named can shape how it is perceived, understood, and valued.

A name inspired by the core of local tradition, the famous Cretan dance Pentozali and the meaning of the word “Zalo” which means “step”. Designed to feel contemporary, open, and flexible, while suggesting a collection of spaces rather than a static structure, Zalo embodies the essence of neo-traditional iland living.

Created the name to reflect both physical movement and an inner shift toward slow, intentional living
Built a naming system inspired by Greek language and landscape, with property names like Adama, Noema, and Alargo, each carrying layered meanings tied to the land and experience
Developed a strategic brand narrative focused on “quiet luxury,” sustainability, and belonging
Collaborated closely with Roleplay on language that complemented the sober, poetic visual identity
