istorima

People’s stories arre valuable and need to be heard. Imagine all this oral treasures that are hidden all over Greece and are in danger of dissapearing the moment thier owners will… This is basically the idea behind Istorima, a huge endeavour supported by Niarchos Foundation that created ans is still enriching the biggest archive of stories in Greece.

The story behind the stories

Istorima operates by a huge network of people who know the people that have the stories all around Greece and are great enough to find them and record the stories (Researchers), people who offer their stories and graceously let us all live in their memories (Narrators) and a multi-talented creative team made of journalists, writers, sound editors, video creators and more.

People tell their stories deliberately, some of the narrators are old, some stories are delicate and feelings may arise that can mess up the a timeline or a figurative narration. Enter the writing team, whose role is to decipher the core meaning of a story, the script, the main characters, climaxes, a morale …

The process of listening and putting a story on paper is magical, healing and revealing.

Stories going social

Presenting a story on social media and inviting the audience to discover can be tricky, in the sense that the story has be kept a secret until reading it, but also some of its elements need to be presented so as to attract their audience.

We created a visualy striking social media feed, inviting a design team with unique style and the potential to experiment along with the stories subject. The result was a colorful canvas, filled with art, people’s portraits and imaginative representations of the feelings the stories conveyed!
